O-bama Tree, O-bama Tree

So, this has nothing to do with food, but if you’ve been following me on Twitter, you know that we decided to magically transform the Christmas tree into an Inauguration Tree. It has red, white and blue twinkly lights. Red, silver and blue ornaments. Red, white and blue star-shaped garlands. Flags. A patriotic pinwheel doing star-duty at the top. Because we’ve got Inauguration Fever!

Oh, and there’s a unicorn.

The unicorn was inspired by Chris Bishop’s “Barack Obama Riding a Unicorn” T-shirt, possibly the greatest and best T-shirt ever created.

Can we keep bringing the sparkle to the neighborhood? Can we keep the party going? Can we think of a way to decorate this thing for Groundhog Day?

You know where I’m going with this.

YES. WE. CAN.

You are a clever girl! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Brilliant! I absolutely love it! You can take down the blue and white for Feb. 14th, and then put the blue and white back for President’s day. Did you want to push it until March 17th???

How lovely are your branches! It’s the most beautiful inauguration tree ever! And there will always be a special place in my heart for my friend Cara’s “Elites for Obama” t-shirt, but the unicorn is a very close second!!

What a great tree for a great day! I love the pinwheel star. I expect to see leprechauns and gold coin candies for St. Patrick’s Day!

I Love the tree!! When my children were little, we had a Valentine, St. Patrick, Easter, and 4th of July trees. It was the most fun and looking for things to go on the trees was a joy!

Okay. So I’m totally a republican but I’m actually quite optimistic about the new presidency. Cute tree, glad you found such a unique way to celebrate patriotism.
